Leading from the Front: Making Filmmaking Accessible

This year marks St Kilda Film Festival's 40th anniversary and The Other Film Festival's 20th anniversary - and we can rightly say that plenty has changed socially, politically and economically. What is important though is keeping critical and creative discussions that affect accessibility, inclusion and collaboration right at the front of thinking and planning.

To help celebrate these anniversaries and desire to keep the sector thinking, we invite Deaf and Disabled filmmakers to talk about their short films and wider screen industry work. Through short film case studies, we will explore: 

• Deaf and Disabled-led culturally authentic stories
• Inclusive and accessible production methods
• Audience engagement strategies
