Sci-fi and genre cinema have been hugely popular at the box office in recent years, with audiences lapping-up the wildly imaginative approaches, metaphors and characters. In this program we focus on films that take us off-world or to unfamiliar psuedo-scientific spaces and alien encounters. What unites these films is the sheer cinematic hutzpah to tell stories that span whole universes.
