Dogmilk: Expanded

Two experimental filmmakers, one sound artist and two dancers have come together to create a two-part performance that deconstructs the parameters of the cinema screen. Producing a multi-sensory, immersive experience, the corporeal and performative components of cinema production eject themselves outwards towards the future.

Albert Serra - “Cinema is dead. Now it’s just a bloated corpse, waiting to explode.

Performance 1 -Tidelines”

Rocks become cameras as ropes become limbs. ‘Tidelines’ exposes a world of animate forms, where encounters between human and non-human bodies call for new forms of action and movement.

Collaborating with sound artist Bridget Chappell (Hextape) and dancers Anika Deruyter & Maddy Bowman, video artist Sofie McClure presents a performance in which the screens become dancing partners and the dancers extensions of the screen. Controlled by ropes, the mobile screens shift in organization, calling upon the audience to carve their own path, through and behind the image.

Performance 2 - “Tourist Kill”

Garden Reflexxx presents ‘Tourists Kill’, a movie about camera babysitting.

Meeting on a nude beach and dying on a highway, weaving in and out of our own deleted scenes we will talk about planning, pronoia and conception.

A short workshop, film and discourse on how the camera can also be a baby.
