Appendix #1 – Specifications & Guidelines for 2016 Festival

Preview Screener Formats

The St Kilda Film Festival will accept preview screeners in the following formats:

  • DVD (PAL)
  • Secure online link (Vimeo / YouTube). Must be password protected with no expiry before June 2016.

Presentation Screener Formats

St Kilda Film Festival will screen QuickTime copies as per the below specification:

Supported QuickTime Video Codecs: Apple Pro Res 422 / 4444 or H.264

Resolution: 1920 x 1080                                Frame: 25p or 50i                             Data Rate: up to 150 Mbit/s

Audio Notes

The St Kilda Film Festival will screen films with stereo and 5.1 channel surround sound.

For 2 channel stereo, audio track allocation must be:

1: Left
2: Right

For 5.1 channel surround, audio track allocation must be:

1: Left
2: Right
3: Center
4: LFE
5: Left Surround
6: Right Surround

If you are going to submit a film with 5.1 channel surround sound, plus a stereo mix down within the same file, please allocate the stereo mix as follows:

1: Left
2: Right
3: Center
4: LFE
5: Left Surround
6: Right Surround
7: Lt (Left Total)
8: Rt (Right Total)

If your film does not comply with the above track layout, please label your filename with the allocation.
