In the winter following a devastating bushfire, a father and son attempt to navigate their loss.
Writer/Director Emily Dynes was inspired to create a short film focused on bushfires after hearing that her mother's home had burnt down twice as a child, and growing up in a bushfire prone area herself.
Emily was recently selected to participate in MIFF’s prestigious Accelerator program, an intensive platform for emerging Australian directors. She was nominated as 2016's Young Australian Filmmaker at the Byron Bay International Film Festival and was a finalist for My Queer Career at Mardi Gras 2017.
St Elmo's lead actor Toby Wallace can be seen in the leading role in Nicholas Verso’s coming of age feature Boys in the Trees which recently premiered at both the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals. He has also been featured in the adaptation of Tim Winton’s book The Turning (Cockleshell, directed by Tony Ayres), feature films Galore from director Rhys Graham which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and in Return to Nim’s Island opposite Bindi Irwin.
